Ben Dahlvang

Ben Dahlvang and his wife Anna have been members of Cornerstone since 2008, after moving to the area from Minnesota. Ben is the Associate Director of wtsbooks.com. Before moving to Pennsylvania, Ben worked in the construction industry for 8 years. Ben and Anna have one son and one daughter.

Sandy Finlayson

Elder Sandy Finlayson is Director of Library Services and Professor of Theological Bibliography at Westminster Theological Seminary.  Sandy has degrees from the University of Toronto, MLS, and Tyndale Theological Seminary, MTS. He is the author of; Thomas Chalmers, in the Bitesize Biography Series and Unity and Diversity: the Founders of the Free Church of Scotland.

Sandy is married to Linda, who is the Administrative Assistant at Cornerstone and the author of books for children.
They have one son.

Shawn Ghazanfari

Shawn Ghazanfari has been a member of Cornerstone since 2013.  Shawn graduated from Philadelphia Biblical University in 2002 with a dual major in Biblical Studies and Elementary Education (K-6).  He currently serves as an Academic Adviser for The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter school.  He has one daughter, Grace, who has a total of 14 pets.

Cris Simpson, Associate Pastor

In addition to serving as Associate Pastor of the congregation, Cris Simpson is also Systems Architect for wtsbooks.com. He holds an M.Div from Westminster Theological Seminary (2011). He also holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked in the computer industry for twenty years. He and his wife Margaret have two children and one dog. All but the dog began attending Cornerstone in 2007 after the family moved from Oregon.

Tom Sorkness

Elder Tom Sorkness has been an ordained elder in the OPC for more than twenty years. He and his family began attending Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (then Gwynedd Valley OPC) in 2006. Tom has been at various times both a history teacher and administrator at Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy for the past 25 years. He and his wife Lois have eight children. Both Tom and Lois serve on the planning committee for the Presbyterian Family Week held annually at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference in New Jersey.

Carl R. Trueman, Pastor

In addition to serving as our Pastor, Carl R. Trueman is Professor of Historical Theology and Church History and Paul Wooley Chair of Church History at Westminster Theological Seminary. Carl has degrees from St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, MA and the University of Aberdeen, Ph.D. 

Carl 
has authored many books, including, most recently Luther on the Christian Life: Cross and Freedom. He also blogs regularly at First Things and co-hosts the Mortification of Spin podcast. He lives in Oreland, with his wife, Catriona, and has two sons.

John Colbert

John was born in Philadelphia and has been married to Susan for 40+ years. He has 3 children and 9 grandchildren. He retired from Verizon after 38 years as a cable splicer in 2008. He enjoys watching the Phillies and the Flyers, Masterpiece Theatre, and the Food Network channel. His all-time favorite movie is Ben-Hur. He works part-time for a remodeling contractor in the Montco area. He and Sue have been attending Cornerstone since February, 2013

Mark Mosser

Mark grew up in Upper Bucks and Montgomery Counties. After graduating from college, getting married to Jean, and attending further college courses Mark spent four years in the US Navy including a year-long tour in Vietnam. Since 1973 they have been members of OPC congregations in eastern Pennsylvania including the Gwynedd Valley Church-the predecessor of Cornerstone. Mark was a deacon for about 15 years in one of the congregations. Mark was employed for almost forty years as an aerospace corrosion chemist retiring about four years ago. Jean and Mark have one child and two grandchildren.

Tim Roof

Tim Roof has been tuning and repairing pianos for private residences and in concert settings since 1983. In 1999 he began his own piano service business. With a degree in Journalism, and as a book lover, he serves as Cornerstone's librarian, and as an usher. Tim is married to Donna and they have three sons. The Roofs are one of the original charter member families of Gwynedd Valley Presbyterian Church (now Cornerstone), having attended the church since 1994.
